Erika + Manny: A Radiant Wedding at Spanish Hills Club

We loved the romantic, tearful video shot by Light Up Videos, and the captivating photos by Taylor Ashley Photography. The venue of course is fantastic; with their various photo locations & views, friendly staff, and accommodations that make choosing you venue here, easy. An incredible DJ (Bouquet Sound), who we know as Dominiq —who is not only great at mixing your ideal wedding playlist, but is also an charismatic MC. The florist company (Camarillo Flower Shop) is not only a local, friendly vendor but their flowers are delightful, especially when lit up by marquee lights by Alpha Lit Los Angeles. And we love the makeup by Beauty by Alicia Leming AND the local bridal boutique, Bella Bridal Couture, where our brides always find their perfect wedding gown.

Katie & Ryan - Riviera Mansion Wedding in Santa Barbara

This couple’s wedding was held at one of my favorite venues, the Riviera Mansion! However, when Katie and Ryan booked Jamison Events, they originally had a venue set in Santa Barbara at a private estate. Due to the pandemic, that option fell through, so they had to find a new venue and Riviera Mansion ended up being the perfect option for their big day!

The Riviera Mansion has a historic, castle-like vibe, so the décor & design the couple had Jamison Events help create was a mix of modern set in a charming private estate venue. It translated beautifully.

My favorite part of the décor aspect was the Ghost Chiavari Chairs. Oh gosh—and I personally had not worked with Chiavari Chairs as a ghost chair before, so I was really excited about it!! In searching for these special chairs, I found Three Little Birds Event Rentals and we were a match made in heaven. Such a great company to work with- we now have several weddings in the further together. 

Another fun design idea Katie wanted was a champagne wall — we did a unique spin on a champagne wall, by adding a place card in each glass. This was a nice way to offer a glass of champagne and have guests find their seats. 

One note we did run into- anytime a slight breeze would hit, the cards would fly off. Ha! So we did ALL we could to make sure it looked picture perfect for guests when it was time to reveal the champagne wall. 

Events from the BIG DAY —

Katie and Ryan did something extra special during their first look, they each read their own personal vows to each other. This was an intimate moment with just the two of them and it made it extra special. 

Then Katie and Ryan had their Ceremony on the Lawn, as you can see from these photos below.

And while guests were enjoying Cocktail hour and Dinner, we worked hard to flip the Lawn for the dancing portion of the night!

For the reception & dancing, Katie had a stunning dress-change so she was comfortable to dance the night away. Her caped short dress was literally stunning!!

Ashley & Andrew - Candle Lit, Romantic Franciscan Gardens Wedding

Tucked away in the heart of San Juan Capistrano is the beautiful San Franciscan Gardens. This venue is a LITERAL romantic hideaway wedding venue with historic charm. From the elegant wooden gates to the flourishing fountain, this garden is blossoming with opportunity!

The lucky couple who I got to work with were Ashley and Andrew, who originally booked me at their venue in Ventura County. However, after the pandemic shut downs, they decided to get married closer to home in Orange County.

I have to say, it was my first chance to work at the Franciscan Gardens and I’m obsessed!

Also, I got to work in tandem with 24 Carrot Catering for the first time; a delicious, elevated catering company located in Costa Mesa. They are known for luxury events within LA and they did not disappoint! Professional, easy to work with and on top of everything!

On the big day, Ashley and Andrew did their first look at the Mission, which I highly recommend to any couples having their wedding at the Franciscan Gardens. It was an easy walking distance from the venue.

The entire event was candle lit, romantic, luxury and fun! Everyone could feel the bliss and romance that Jamison Events dreamed up for this special couple. You could say the design was pulled straight from a romantic novel. And their guests danced the night away.

Heather & Nick - A Traditional Spanish Hills Wedding with a Touch of Modern

These two were one of my favorite couples; they were patient, sweet and kind humans. Their family was a sure reflection of them the day of their wedding as well.

The location of their wedding was at the beautiful Spanish Hills Country Club (in Camarillo, California). The accommodations are great and the venue style is a nice blend of the garden, outdoor-wedding feel for the ceremony, and an elegant indoor ballroom for the reception.

Heather and Nick had their wedding on a Friday and for some reason that day of the week for weddings always feels a little more chill and easy going. Their style was more traditional with a modern touch. There was sort of a black and white tie feel, but they also chose a wonderful accent color; blue. It was weaved within the bridesmaid dresses, groomsmen ties, invitations, and the bright blue skies that day!

These two lovebirds didn’t see each other before the ceremony (so no first looks!) because they wanted that extra special first moment together as bride, Heather came down the aisle to groom, Nick.

For the ceremony, the couple opted to hire Thor officiant, who did an amazing job. It was super important to them that we had a nice flow of events during the night, so I ensured toasts started as soon as possible and made sure they didn’t feel like there was too much down time.

In fact, all the vendors that day were pretty great at making this happen, with special mention to Anokiart Photography and Floral Designs by Roni. This florist, I’ve worked with for over 20 years, but this was sadly the very last wedding Roni did in California before moving out of state. Jamison Events is wishing her an amazing future in her new hometown!

Hannah and Sam’s Modern Chic Spanish Hills Club Wedding

The NEW re-model of the Spanish Hills Club + Hannah & Sam’s modern chic wedding aesthetic will make your jaw drop! This gorgeous design is a blank canvas of white with long wooden floorboards, and a modern spanish twist. Hannah and Sam are the first wedding I’ve done with the Spanish Hills Club since their inside remodel, and HOLY SMOKES! Prepare to be blown away…

On a scale of calm to bride-zilla, Hannah is probably one of the most organized and relaxed brides’ I’ve ever worked with! Considering her groom, Sam, is from the UK and had family traveling internationally, I was incredibly impressed by her composure. They were both two of the kindest people ever & with my team at Jamison Events, we helped create an incredible day for them!

Since the new re-model of Spanish Hills Club is pretty much a blank canvas, we had a lot of freedom for design, but this also meant a lot of space to fill! We used a mix of long & round tables with lots of candles, which turned out super elegant & romantic. Their welcome table turned into a sort of welcome room with white roses, mini candles, a “we’re so glad you’re here” sign, a guest book canvas to sign with a custom outline drawing of the bride and groom, a gifts table with a clear card box & tissues for guests. The bride and groom chose a unique Ceremony twist by facing the fireplace inside, which became the altar & backdrop for the wedding ceremony, which was absolutely beautiful with the black chiavari modern chairs, hanging modern chandeliers, and dj in the back left corner.

Jamison Events

During cocktail hour and photos, we flipped this same space for the Reception and filled the room with round tables and white linens, also re-using the flowers from the ceremony. The sweetheart table was a stunning half-moon table with lots of candles,white linen draped with elegance, and simple table settings. My favorite part was when we had a few free minutes to show Hannah and Sam their Reception space setup and ready. Hannah joyfully said, “This is exactly my vision, I love it so much.” That meant so much to my Wedding Planner heart. Making my Bride happy, is everything I work for!

The whole reception was also super fun with some funny speeches, and lots of dancing. With the new floorboards, the sound really bounced off and filled the room, so I would recommend testing the sound level during preparations to make sure you don’t wake up the next morning with limited hearing! 

Overall, the wedding went incredible & the vendors were great. Most of all, Hannah and Sam were like models in front of the camera. I can't wait to see more of their photos!

Surprise! It's our Wedding Day!

When Nicole called me one morning, we had an instant bond. Tania the Director of the Private Club in Santa Monica sent Nicole my way. She and her fiance Brad were planning her Engagement Party which she wanted to shock her guests with the news that it was actually their Wedding. And shock them, did they! Working with some of the industries best vendors we created the most amazing day. Located at the private Beach Club in Santa Monica the venue offered beach front views, clean, white accents and the salty breeze.

About an hour into cocktail hour, a long time friend of theirs got up on stage in the middle of the room for a toast. He announced with pride, “Since we are all here already, how about we just marry them now.” To say the least, Nicole and Brad kept their secret from EVERYONE so this their guests erupted into genuine cheers and screams.

In her insanely beautiful Ralph Lauren Dress she said “I Do” to her best friend. And I genuinely cried. Its always an honor to be apart of someone’s Wedding, but I was so happy for the much deserving Nicole. With that, they danced their way into the night.

Modern meets Romantic at North Ranch CC

A few months ago our friends at North Ranch Country Club went into renovation mode. They planned to revamp their main inside space of their club for a fresh, clean look. We were especially excited for this because their space is a hidden gem and new this renovation would accelerate the space to be truly beautiful!

So, when Emma of Emma + Josh Photography reached out to collaborate on a Styled Shoot that would feature their renovation, we jumped on board. At Jamison Events, we don’t do Styled Shoots often, mainly because our availability is minimal, but this was one we were absolutely excited about. As we reached out to some of the areas top vendors, we found that Modern Romantic theme to be exactly the pace for 2019! Clean lined, geo shapes, pops of gold and white floral are the popular choices for this year.

We started out our shoot with the Ceremony spots. North Ranch Country Club has two directions you can chose to face. One features a black iron Gazebo that is beautiful to decorate and the second direction is towards the incredible mountains!

Something I learned the hard way… I really wanted infinity or ghost chairs by Imperial Rentals for the Ceremony space. We learned quick that they are actually really difficult to take photos of since they are…. ghostly. So, Mindy of Primrose and Petals acted quick and made a few extra pieces to accentuate the space and show the amazing chairs.

The Second Ceremony site was so fun to dream up. The DeLuxe Balloon company, Primrose and Petals and myself came up with a Modern Circle Arch featuring all white Balloons and a mix of florals and greenery. I loved how the greenery looked as though they were climbing up the arch!!

The “Lounge” area was my favorite because it featured some modern pieces by everyone involved. When I thought about this Styled Shoot I knew this was one spot I wanted to feature. I’m so proud with how these shots came out!

When we moved into the Ballroom to really feature the new renovation. This was where the design aspect got really fun! I just picture the coolest light meets dark styles in this space. I loved the blue lighting with Dark Grey Linens, it felt so warm yet classy!
